Easter Sunday in Athens.

We have been quite lucky this year as we landed in Athens the day before Greek Orthodox Easter Sunday. It was certainly a treat to have a second Easter and to see that Lamb is at the heart of Easter Sunday dinner here, just as it is in England. Back home traditionally we would have roast lamb with all the trimmings. This year I struck out and made a Sardinian Lamb Pasta, a bit of a twist.

Back to Greece and wandering around the base of the Acropolis and through the district of Plaka every resturant had a spit roast lamb outside, yum, yum!

Strange enough I didn’t have the lamb but at a lovely resturant called Zorbas, I did have this wonderful meal.
