Last minute edible presents for your mum, gran or a special lady.
It’s mothers day tomorrow and there are probably still a few of us out there who are getting ready to pop back home or to the in-laws tomorrow and have just realised they have forgotten to get a present for their mother or mother in law. Thankfully Hana is a bit more organised than I am and there is a little gift sitting in a bag ready to go back with us to Hertfordshire tomorrow, so I don’t need to panic about getting or making something. For me this will be a bit of an odd mothers day as it is the first after my gran passed away back in June of last year, really having raised me from the age of nine she was as much a mother as a grandmother and so I guess it feels like there is a bit of a space this year to be filled. Luckily through we will be visiting Hana’s family so there will still be a nice day to look forward to. In the mean time, if you are stuck for a last minute present I have made a few really nice edible gifts over the past few years I’ve been doing this blog and thought I’d share a few of them with you.
I made these gorgeous homemade chocolates asa valentines day present for Hana this year. This was my first attempt at making chocolates from scratch and I’d say it worked out really well. This is a pretty simple recipe to follow and you can prepare them Sunday morning right before heading off, just give yourself alittle bit of time for them to set!
Not up for chocolates, why not try these delish caramel chocolate bar cupcakes instead! It doesn’t take too long to whip up a batch of these cupcakes which have a caramel centre. Pop them in a box and they look really professional – you could even get away with saying you bought them from a trendy bakery.
